Martina Matzkin’s LGBTQ-themed The Name of the Son won two awards out of one in the official Generation section of the Berlin Film Festival, which is dedicated to films with a youth theme. The Children’s Jury awarded it the Crystal Bear for the best short film in the section, with the following reasoning: “The short film talks about a child’s doubts about his sexual identity and thus illustrates a strong father-son relationship. Although we have never been in a situation like this, thanks to great acting on an emotional level, we were able to immerse ourselves in the story. It is difficult to put into words how moving a story as simple as it is solid can be.”

El cortometraje de Martina Matzkin, The Name of the Son, de temática LGBTQ, ha ganado dos premios de uno en la sección oficial Generation del Festival de Cine de Berlín, dedicada a películas con temática juvenil. El jurado infantil le ha concedido el Oso de Cristal al mejor cortometraje de la sección, con el siguiente razonamiento: “El cortometraje habla de las dudas de un niño sobre su identidad sexual y, por tanto, ilustra una fuerte relación padre-hijo. Aunque nunca nos habíamos encontrado en una situación así, gracias a unas magníficas interpretaciones a nivel emocional pudimos sumergirnos en la historia. Es difícil expresar con palabras lo conmovedora que puede ser una historia tan sencilla como sólida”.
